May 4, 2015 (Week 48)

I don’t have too much to write about for this week.  I was going to save a bunch of time so that we could plan how we are going to do the call.

The coolest thing that happened this week was on Saturday.  We visit a woman named Ana Luisa, who has been an investigator for some time.  I believe that I have written about her before, but she hasn’t progress much so if I have written, it was a while ago.  She is a very good investigator, only held back from baptism because she has to get married.  She lives with a man who is the father of her 3 children.  They struggle economically, for health reasons and her family.  Probably, her family is the most difficult thing in her life that she has to regularily deal with, worse than her diabetes.  Her family drops in without asking and eats their food and lives in their house and generally makes a mess, without paying for a cent of what they are taking.  They typically spend the money on themselves.  This is difficult for Ana, because they don’t say thank you, and because of their selfishness, it is difficult for them to be able to do the things that they want to do, like get an x-ray for her knee that may or may not be broken and get married so that she can get baptized.  We have a pretty good relationship with her, because she has found that what we share makes her feel better.  She studies pretty regularily the scriptures we leave her, but she has only had a BoM, limiting her study.  We dropped by last Saturday to see if we could visit her, and she was visibly stressed out because of her family, and the pain in her knee.  She told us that she couldn’t attend us at that moment, and we could see that made her sad.  Luckily, we had a Triple and a Bible that we had ordered from the offices last p-day, and we gave them to her.  She almost burst into tears.  I think that we were the first people that had shown her any kind of love all day, if not for the whole week.

The weather is cooling off a little.  We’ve had a few jacket-and-scarf days, which makes me very happy.  It’s irregular, but it feels so good.
